Office is well known to virtually every computer user. The latest release, from 2021, is characterized by a refreshed interface, or the ability to run a black theme, which is being chosen by more and more people in many systems and applications. There are numerous performance improvements that speed up the work done on files, and improvements to already available features, allowing them to be used more often and more actively.
From now on, within PowerPoint, it is also possible to record presentations (including the presenter's voice). This is especially important if, for example, you conduct training that needs to be saved for later, even for people who could not attend the lesson on the scheduled date. Slideshows prepared in the Microsoft program can also be further enhanced with new ready-made elements added to the Premium Creative Content database. And if you come up with new ideas that you might want to use later, you can easily jot them down in OneNote, where you can organize your thoughts in paged and sectioned notebooks.
In turn, Excel has an option to support dynamic arrays and the XMATCH function supporting improved matching and searching. Another novelty, LET, allows assigning names to the results of calculations. Office for Home and Student has also enabled saving files in ODF 1.3 format. This is a big advantage for those who share files with people who do not have an Office license and only use free software. Word has gained features within the Draw tab that are well known to users of professional graphics programs such as Photoshop. They are point eraser, lasso and ruler. Working on documents gains a new dimension!
Of course, Office 2021 Home also has all the features that appeared as novelties in the previous release, i.e. those from 2019. These include: tool for editing and translating texts and for handwriting. What does it mean? Using your finger, pen or mouse, you can write or underline text or enter various types of patterns, which is especially important in the case of industries related to the exact sciences. The package also includes Microsoft Translator, i.e. a built-in dictionary that suggests words in the required language.
Microsoft is a company that cares very much about creating solutions that respond to the needs of society, which arise along with the development of digitization. In addition to Microsoft 365 operating in the cloud, traditional Office suites have received document sharing functions, which makes it much easier, for example, to perform group work for school classes. You can easily edit and share documents with other users in real time. The search for additional information is also simplified, because thanks to the smart search function without switching between windows, you can find what you are looking for. Office Home & Student 2021 also offers audio prompts for errors. This feature is especially useful for people who write a lot and do it in a hurry.
Microsoft also took care of inclusivity through the accessibility checker. From now on, before you send any text or graphic file, you can check whether it will be readable by a person with disabilities. Learning and sharing documents together is also hassle-free, because with the help of the free Microsoft Teams program, you can, for example, share your screen and discuss and explain tasks to each other in a simpler way.
